We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented Contract Editors to join our team. As an Editor, you will be responsible for reviewing, revising, and refining written content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to the organization's style guidelines. Your role will involve editing various types of materials, including articles, novels/manuscripts, blog posts, marketing collateral, reports, and other written documents. The ideal candidate has a strong command of language, exceptional editing skills, and the ability to provide constructive feedback to writers and content creators.

Responsibilities:

Review and edit written content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax errors while ensuring consistency in style, tone, and messaging.

Revise and restructure content to improve clarity, coherence, and overall readability without compromising the author's voice and intent.

Fact-check and verify the accuracy of information, data, and sources cited in the content.

Collaborate with writers and content creators to provide constructive feedback, clarify suggestions, and address any editing-related queries.

Enforce adherence to the organization's style guide, ensuring consistency in formatting, citation, and language usage.

Manage multiple editing assignments and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and evolving language conventions.

Work closely with the content team and other stakeholders to ensure content aligns with the organization and/or author's objectives and target audience.

Collaborate with writers to provide constructive feedback and suggestions for improving the quality and impact of their work.

Adhere to project deadlines and manage multiple editing assignments simultaneously.

Ensure confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive information.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.

Proven experience as an editor, with a strong portfolio showcasing edited content across various genres.

Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar, syntax, and style conventions.

Attention to detail with the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies in written materials.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with writers and content creators.

Familiarity with style guides (e.g., AP, Chicago Manual of Style) and the ability to adapt to different writing styles.

Proficiency in using editing tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs).

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
